Listen, you probably think I’m a little crazy.

Two and a half years ago, I had the idea of creating an online social networking site for mental health professionals. Why? Because no one else had done so and no one else was interested. I pitched the idea to some of my colleagues, some venture capitalists, and some of my business friends. Nobody seemed all that interested.

“Why would I want to socialize with a psychiatrist?” one of my clinical social worker friends asked.

“How are you going to make money? Nobody cares what these professionals think?” said one of my venture capitalist acquaintances.

“I don’t see a business there,” noted one of my respected business friends. “But you could always try it and see what happens.”

So we’re trying to see what happens!

But first, life happened in the intervening 2 or so years and it took me awhile to gather together the resources I would need to make this work and make it work right.

And by “work right,” I mean I needed to ensure in a reasonably responsible manner that we could actually make a closed, private social networking community of this nature work. We needed to make sure we could verify new members and do so in a reasonably quick manner. There were some technical issues needing to be resolved. And I wanted to wait until it felt like it was the right time.

So here we are and welcome… We hope you enjoy the community and if you have any suggestions or comments, please join and let us know.
